Veggie Tikka Masala

 

Good, but not as good as the veggie tikka masala they serve in restaurants, and not as good as paneer tikka masala. This one could be called "potato tikka masala".

This one is a classic. It may well be the first Tasty Bite I ever tried, and still tastes good after all these years - even if the paneer content has been reduced.

Scarlett Pie

Finally Whole Foods came through with their interesting seasonal creation "Scarlett Pie". The crust resembled an apple cobbler, which was good, while the filling featured several fruits: pears, apples and cranberries. Delicious when warmed up!

Who knew that in 21st century America it would be so difficult to find a piece of pie, even from the places that specialize in it? Although Crushcakes in Goleta was sold out, at least they had this painting, which was apropos.

Tribe Coffeehouse

For me the environment of a coffee house is as important as the quality of the coffee. Tribe Coffeehouse in Arroyo Grande gets high marks in both areas. No crowd - just pleasing coffee and thoughtfully-designed space.

After strolling around the town we had some classic Middle Eastern food at the Jaffa Café. We also did some strolling after the meal. There was plenty to stroll about.

While it doesn't have a beach, Arroyo Grande more than makes up for that fact with its historic downtown, famous swinging bridge, and roosters.
