Wandering around the beach in Marina, I learned that Menzies wallflower, Erysimum menzieii, is a rare, protected species, native to certain California sand dunes.

I've always liked Monterey Harbor's light at sunset, and the Sandbar & Grill, where we ate one night, is well positioned for it.
