Luna Red

Not too far from Novo, and right next to Mission San Luis Obispo, a similarly pleasant outdoor dining experience was had at Luna Red. One of their fortes was interesting nonalcoholic mixed drinks (below), the taste of which I still recall with delight and gusto.

FLW in SLO

In all the years I have visited San Luis Obispo, it never came to my attention till now that there was a genuine Frank Lloyd Wright building. Evidently a Dr. Kundert moved here and had the building designed by his fellow Wisconsinite in 1956. Known as the Kundert Medical Building, it appears to be in good condition and still in use.

Garden Street Inn

Conveniently located down the street from the coffee house, this historic bed & breakfast definitely has its share of charm and character. Excellent location in downtown SLO.

figs as ivy

I've seen many fig trees in my life, but never growing on a wall like ivy. Seen at the Linnaea Café garden in SLO. No idea if they are edible.

Linnaea's Café

There's no question that this was the last nicest coffee house garden I ever had the pleasure of spending time in. Still not sure how to pronounce Linnaea's but it's a nice addition to the SLO coffee scene.

bear fountain

I've always liked this "bear fountain" next to Mission San Luis Obispo.

San Luis Creek

San Luis Creek, also known as the creek that runs near the mission. What's there not to love about the network of walkways and bridges in the historic heart of San Luis Obispo.
