The Vedanta (Hindu) Temple in the Santa Barbara foothills that I read about in Pico Iyer's "The Man Within My Head", the book I was reading when my father died, a book that was partly about his father dying, so it seemed appropriate to go there one year later. The temple itself was built in 1955 in the South Indian style (although appearing Japanese).
What a perfect place to go on this day.
