Sure, we'll rent you a car that - instead of a normal key - has an electronic fob. And we won't mention the fact that very often the batteries in these fobs we pass out are almost dead. No worries, you can purchase and replace the battery yourself and we'll subtract the cost from your bill.

Walt Whitman Birthplace

Speaking of Long Island history, I had for years wondered why I had never visited the Walt Whitman Birthplace in Huntington Station, NY. It's hidden away on a side street near the Walt Whitman shopping mall, but once you find it you can't help realizing that it's been lovingly preserved and professionally curated. I took the tour and bought the postcard, in honor of the old postcard that inspired this visit.
