Coast Range
Our first visit to Solvang's relatively new Coast Range, where we enjoyed a multi-dimensional dinner in celebration of a certain someone's birthday. Among the highlights were chopped salad, crispy brussels sprouts and memorable mocktails.
Hotel Hygge
Sometimes Solvang is such a popular destination that you stay at the budget boutique Hotel Hygge in nearby Buellton. "Hygge" roughly translates as cozy and comfortable. The full definition, according to Oxford Languages, is: "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture)."

The Blue Owl
It was surprising that, to the best of our memories, we never dined at this downtown Santa Barbara venue before. This kind of healthy, interesting food is right up our alley. What can I say, it was a memorably pleasant lunch. Photos by Mrs. Birthday Girl.
