I will forever be amazed at the diversity of temperatures and climates within the United States. In some ways the country is a meteorological battle ground, with one of the elements (hot, cold, wet, dry) occasionally getting the upper hand. Such was the case this past February when not only Texas, but the entire mid section of the country was crippled with cold.
It was hard to fathom, as we were experiencing our typically warmish CA winter.
