Shearwaters

Sometimes while taking the boat to Anacapa Island, one encounters a group of birds called Shearwaters - lots of them.

    Walter Anderson's family in Ocean Springs had a pottery studio called Shearwater Pottery. I wonder if the name had anything to do with those birds. Very possible.
