Moving along from the Land of Enchantment to the Grand Canyon State, we found ourselves staying at the Lodge on the Desert in Tucson. It was an interesting property because although it was built at a time when the location was a good distance from the city (1931), the city has since grown up all around it. So, despite the raging sprawl in every direction, the place still possesses some of that early Arizona charm.
There is even some green space upon which to walk one's dog or do some standing yoga moves while reading the newspaper.
