Pittosporum undulatum

Pittosporum undulatum, a beautiful tree from Australia, is seen around the inn at Pepper Tree Retreat. I must admit that - despite being considered very invasive - it enhances the landscaping. Among its common names are Australian cheesewood, Victorian box and mock orange - this last one creating confusion since it's usually applied to the Philadelphus genus, some sixty species native mostly to North America.

  1. Cheesewood?? That’s an odd name, but I do like cheese, wood, and this plant, so I guess it’s okay.
