the Dandenongs

As far as mountains go, the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne are not especially high, but they do consist of true eucalyptus forest, and these eucalyptus trees - Eucalyptus regnans or mountain ash - are the tallest flowering plants. And while they are not quite as tall as California's famous redwoods, the general feel of both kinds of forest is very similar.
