Laughing gulls

 

What I had thought were Bonaparte's gulls were in fact Laughing gulls. Why do so many of them cling to these ferries that run between Galveston and Port Bolivar? Because apparently people feed them. Far from discouraging the practice, the management asks only that it be done from the stern of the boat (to keep their droppings overboard?)
