Around the time of the fine sunset at the Williams, AZ Best Western we saw something high in the sky we couldn't explain - vaguely triangular, moving slowly and shifting shape. Other hotel guests were stumped and for a moment it appeared we had a genuine UFO on our hands. When I looked through binoculars I gasped at what looked like an undulating cartoon alien head. Now one of the guest said with confidence that it was a weather balloon, and since there were wildfires around the Grand Canyon I thought perhaps it was some kind of surveillance related to that. The mystery was solved the next day when we checked the local news (below) and learned that it belonged to NASA. As a result of all this, I have learned a thing or two about weather balloons. Plus, what an amazing day that began with the hot air balloons over Albuquerque and ended with this! (With La Posada in between it was really a "La Posada sandwich" with balloons serving as the bread).
A La Posada sandwhich sounds delish!
