What struck us - as we went for a stroll at 9 p.m. - was how long the light lingered. Yes, we were expecting this in Alaska, but Bellingham was an unknown. The other things that struck us were the absolute dreaminess of the bay and the intriguing design of the promenade, which evidently continued as a lushly-vegetated footpath.
I would love to take another, even longer, walk on that promenade.
