It seems to go by different names but the outstanding feature that I will call the Bellingham Boardwalk was for us a major highlight of the area. There it was outside our hotel window, floating on Bellingham Bay, with the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry pier and terminal just beyond it. As far as popular public promenades go, this one is top notch. According to the sign, it is the child of parks and recreation director Byron Elmendorf. And although perched above the railroad tracks, the Chrysalis Inn is perfectly situated.
Whoever thought of staying here was a genius.
