In theory, and in practice, the cottages at the Wine Valley Inn are charming and idyllic - but mainly from the outside, which is characterized by footbridges, babbling brooks, koi ponds and Danish fairy tale architecture. The interior of our cottage had some nice features, but also was in need of maintenance. The hot tub was relaxing, but made more bizarre gurgling and belching sounds than I could explain. Still, there is enormous potential here with the right kinds of improvements.
I think a little maintenance is definitely needed. But, I also think overall it should keep its rusticness.
