Regarding the Mother Nature side of Los Olivos, we encountered the largest concentration of yellow-billed magpies I have ever seen. They seemed to be based in a walnut grove - maybe a nesting site? - but crossing the street frequently. In any case it was remarkable to behold this "mischief" of "parliament" of magpies - as such large and animated groupings are known.
