Chambers Street Historic District

We went for a morning stroll and learned that the Great House (above), where we stayed, is at the end of Chambers Street, which is a historic district with mostly grand old Victorians. Most of the movers and shakers of Galesburg lived here, and it is also the birthplace of poet Carl Sandburg. At bottom, the curiosity of a house completely covered with vegetation.
