A fairly accurate representation of what the barracks were like. The building dates to around 1819 - the period when the British reoccupied the fort after the Americans ransacked it. We learned a thing or two about the military of that era - for instance that boys as young as 14 were enlisted (although regulations exempted them from combat until they reached 17).
I can’t imagine being fourteen and living in the barracks- or those tents.
