Not to be confused with Three Birds in Ojai, Brass Bird in Carpinteria is a great place for an afternoon coffee with lots of seating, most of it outside.

Tina's Pizza

While not the Holy Grail, this pizza with green olives at Tina's in Carpenteria's Linden Square was quite adequate for our purposes. I believe they are affiliated with Bettina's in Montecito.

Chrisman Center

In what I believe used to be a bank, there is now the Chrisman California Islands Center - a sort of museum and archive dedicated to the islands of California. Confusingly it seems to share the space with the Santa Cruz Island Foundation so that there is an understandable focus on the nearby Channel Islands.
