Channel Islands Maritime Museum

 

If you have the hankering for a distinctive maritime museum, I might suggest the Channel Islands Maritime Museum in Oxnard, CA. The first floor is unlike any I've seen - a first rate collection of ship models and ship paintings with lots of natural light and a view of the harbor.
