This fella was living at our cabin in Louisiana. Although exotic-looking to me, the American five-lined skink is supposedly very common in the eastern US. Not to be confused with the African five-lined skink. Juveniles have blue tails and adults have red heads. It's also known as the blue-tailed skink, however that name is shared by another species native to Christmas Island. So there you have it.
Pretty little feller. 😁
