the Standard High Line

Another first - I found myself strolling along the famous High Line from end to end. The first thing I encountered appeared to be a very distinctive mid-century modern building, but was actually the famous Standard Hotel - or Standard Highline - the 2009 creation of hotelier André Belazs. I can't deny its visual appeal and am astonished that it took me fourteen years to see it. I guess the designers did just fine without asking for my input.
