Closing in on The Battery. Dominating the skyline here is One World Trade Center, where the Twin Towers used to stand. In 2009 they changed the name from "Freedom Tower" in part to move beyond the cloud of 9/11 and promote a return to business as usual. I have to say that with all the work that went in to rebuilding and revitalizing this area, there is palpable freshness and energy and sense of New York City's resilience.
