Kay Sage

As a lifelong fan of surrealist painter Yves Tanguy I've been aware of his wife Kay Sage. Now I'm realizing that she deserves a much closer look. Her paintings are like her husband's material on steroids. They may even be closer in spirit to my own brand of surrealism. I always identified with Yves because he resonated with my Franco-European side, but now I'm realizing that Kay, who came from an old New York family, may actually be 'closer to home'. It all depends where home is. (Above seen at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art).
