Speaking of domoic acid, I saw this one lone seemingly healthy sea lion from a distance on the beach as two guys got WAY too close to it. Getting that close is a no no - they say you should stay at least 50 yards away, although that may be unrealistic in some situations - and I was stunned from afar. I later informed a ranger about it.
I would have screamed at the men. Perhaps it was good I wasn’t there!?!
