Dune Lake Trail, part 2

Of course no trek along the Dune Lake Trail would be complete without experiencing the dunes or the lake. The lake - known as Western Lake - is an example of a rare coastal dune lake, which is a freshwater lake separated from the open sea by only a few yards of sand dunes. This results in a unique ecosystem wherein the flora and fauna of each body of water occasionally intermingle.
