This would be the first of several Florida State Parks that we visited. We knew that P & S camped here and liked it. Beyond that we were on our own. The entrance station provided no map, brochure or information of any kind. Fortunately after discovering Turtle Reef - an artificial reef 783 feet offshore in the shape of a turtle that attracts marine life and snorkelers - I would stumble upon one of the best trails of the entire trip...
Isn’t this the place where a woman visiting from out of state had recently gone missing? Presumed accidental drowning? Or am I mixing it up with another Florida State Park?
