Beyond the planned communities of the western Florida panhandle one enters a very different realm known as "The Forgotten Coast" - by contrast very rustic, rural and rugged. It's a refreshing contrast that offers bigger helpings of history and Mother Nature than one usually finds in The Sunshine State.
