Wonderful place, both the inn and the restaurant; they surpassed my expectations. Same with the town, I had never been to Twentynine Palms - I thought it was just a marine base - and it too surpassed my expectations. Besides being one of the gateways to Joshua Tree National Park, it's a good base for exploring deeper in the desert.
