One the return trip I explored various thickets and realized that I had stumbled upon the boundary and the back yards of Krotona (one of which had a huge coyote that ran off before I could get a good photo). I hadn't realized how close Krotona and the Ojai Retreat were to one another, but it was clear that they were both pieces of the grand puzzle that the Ojai Meadows and KFA land connected.
One wonders exactly how many pieces are in that puzzle.
