Australian pines of Ventura

There I was thinking that a person had to travel halfway around the world to see exotic Australian pines (Casuarina equisetifolia), when in fact they are found right here along the bike path. I thought they looked familiar, and when I looked on the ground I saw the very distinct cones. These trees have actually been growing in the States for many decades and are considered invasive in some parts.
