trip notes

Taking Interstate 40 instead of Interstate 10 was one of the best decisions we ever made. Cutting north through rural Mississippi was relatively stress-free, made the torrential rains more manageable, and got us away from the torrential rains quicker. We crossed the Natchez Trace (above) and the Mississippi River at Vicksburg (previous blog). The eastern boundary of Arkansas was visually pleasant but we were too hounded by the rain to take photos. The good news was that by the time we reached our destination - Pine Bluff, AR - we were out of the rain; the bad news was that the place was not a paradise. Apparently we survived it.

  1. Awww- I feel sad for such a pleasant sounding town getting such a harsh public review. Maybe we need to see more of it and find the more pleasant parts?
