Baltimore Penn Station

As one approaches the station it is impossible not to notice the large sculpture in front of it - "Male/Female" created by Jonathon Borofsky in 2004. This large piece of public art has generated some controversy, one criticism being that it clashes with the classical beauty of the 1911-built station. Personally I'm okay with it since it reflects Baltimore's quirky, artistic side.

  1. I agree that it does clash with the classical beauty, but I do like the sculpture. However, perhaps it would have been better in a different location, maybe downtown (akin to something like Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square), viewed by even more people than those visiting the train station?
