The next day brought blue skies and lots of geysers. Flood Geyser, seen here in Midway Geyser Basin, illustrates the interplay between Yellowstone's many rivers and geysers. Here, as in many other locations, the steaming hot waters of the geyser mix with with the frigid waters of the river (in this case the Firehole River).
I suppose the interplay of temperatures makes those rivers nice bath water for the animals.
