Wandering around Salt Lake City, we were struck by this large but derelict apartment complex that had obviously seen better days. Architecturally it was very interesting, and the more we researched the history the more it appeared to be a worthy landmark. Sadly its deplorable condition will likely rule out preservation. The La France Apartments were built in 1907 and provided affordable housing to many women, elderly and working people who needed a leg up in the big city.
I really loved the architecture of these buildings and their courtyard accompaniments. So sad they will be gone.
