We did see a lighthouse the following day after driving to the very end of the Old Mission Peninsula. But before we got to the lighthouse we were accosted by this, the Hessler Log House, built in1856 by early settlers elsewhere on the peninsula and later moved here to Mission Point. (One sign spells Hessler with one "s" and the other with two, so a person is forced to choose which version to go with).
I forgot all about this.
