Our first glimpse of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (actually my second since I had been here before). That's North and / or South Manitou Islands in the distance above - I think they may blend in from this perspective. That pop of azure blue in the bottom photo is Glen Lake, once connected to Lake Michigan but now separated by a sand bar. Swimming is permitted there and much warmer than any Great Lake.
I had completely forgotten about Glen Lake.
