Bandon Beach

There are many ways that this is a unique and beautiful beach. Clearly something geological is going on, or went on a long time ago. The sand is firm and compacted, and the all the gradations from pebbles to sand are present. Then there is the way the light plays on everything. At slightly different angles the sand shifts from brown to purple, while the formations appear black, like pieces of charcoal - at least in this light, with the sun low in the sky. The waves are lively without being overbearing. The wind is tolerable and the chill is tempered by the sunshine. These were my first impressions and I'm sticking to 'em.
