We took Route 199 - the same road that took us to Hiouchi - northeast all the way back into Oregon. The drive was almost entirely through two National Forests - Six Rivers and Rogue River-Siskiyou. The area in these photos is also known as Smith River National Recreation Area. The biggest town we passed through was Cave Junction - gateway to Oregon Caves National Monument. I look forward to going there some day when the lodge is repaired.
