Horseshoe Bend

Early the next morning, on the outskirts of Page AZ, we checked out Horseshoe Bend - the famous vista point of a hairpin turn in the Colorado River. A couple things were evident right off the bat - 1) this place gets a LOT of visitors and is set up to accommodate them with a wide, smooth trail 2) the time of day you visit will strongly effect your view of the bend. In the early morning the shadows of the canyon will create the above effect. Maybe not the best time of day for photographs, but in other regards pleasant conditions for a cool morning walk.
