The east wing of the lodge contained a large gift shop and an old fashioned postal window, where you could send post cards purchased in the shop with a North Rim postmark (bottom photo). The postal clerk even looked like an old fashioned postal clerk. He was such a friendly conversationalist that I forgot to point out that I hadn't yet bought a stamp; thus forced to improvise, he cancelled the stamp with a Sharpie.
I guess you will just have to remember it was 2023, unless you wrote the date on the postcard.
