Back in California for the remainder of the trip. I've always been impressed by this sight - is it even possible not to be? At a rest area, it was interesting to learn about Shastina, the lower peak, and Black Butte - a smaller "satellite cone" next to 14,163 foot high Mount Shasta.
At one point in my life I was very aware of Shastina. Then it was buried in layers of other happenings. I am glad it has resurfaced. At least for a while.
