Mt. Tabor Park, part 3


The sign below explains that Portland, OR is the only major city in the U.S. that has a volcano within its city limits. Also, what I called a "crater" a moment ago can more accurately be called a cinder cone. The sign dates to 1952. The reservoirs go back to the 1890's, and the recommendation to create a park here was made by John Charles Olmsted in 1903.
