Commando Memorial

I stumbled upon this monument and plaque which explained that during the Second World War, Wilsons Prom was used as a commando training center for soldiers both from Australia and New Zealand. As I understand it, commandos are elite special forces units of the military, and Wilsons Prom was a national park both before and after the war.
