Flinders Street Station

As a train guy, I was looking forward to seeing the famous Flinders Street Station, Melbourne's main rail hub, which we arrived at via rail. The first thing that struck me was that it wasn't as large as I had expected based on photos I had seen. Also, in terms of design, there was nothing extraordinary about the interior. Then I walked out onto the street and - bam! - imagine my surprise when I looked up and saw the building covered with scaffolding! Oh well, I guess it was getting a facelift. Maybe next time.
On a more amusing note, we noticed that this public sculpture hanging on the wall inside the station had a bird nesting in it. It's hard to see, but it's there. It's there and it's amusing.
