The famous island foxes were still there on Santa Cruz Island, but not nearly as abundantly as my previous visit to Scorpion Ranch. They were however as docile as I recalled - as quiet and seemingly gentle as house cats. Now that I think about it, their number one behavior seems to be sniffing, as these photos illustrate.
One wonders what one of these foxes would do if they came upon Javi relaxing in the grass.
