Sometimes while going for a stroll along Monterey Bay in Pacific Grove, you walk by a plaque memorializing singer John Denver, who fatally crashed an experimental aircraft nearby into the bay in 1997. The odd thing is that you've lived in the area for many years, but you didn't see the plaque until now. Stranger still, you encounter the plaque on October 11, and the incident occurred on October 12. The plaque encounter was a year ago, and this blog is being written nineteen years after the incident to the day.
