On this second visit to Truckee we were a bit older and wiser to all that the town had to offer. For lodging we definitely enjoyed staying at the Cedar House Sport Hotel, a sort of alpine boutique hotel complete with hot tub and coffee bar. For dinner we went just down the road to the Cottonwood Restaurant, located in a building overlooking the town that apparently used to be called Hilltop Lodge. Not sure what the story is there except that it's now a very good restaurant in a great location.
