A fine looking lighthouse by day, Beavertail lighthouse not only still functions as a lighthouse, but also houses a maritime museum. Actually the whole area is a park - Beavertail State Park - which is also home to a tiny aquarium (not to be confused with a tiny house). I suppose Conanicut Island to some fevered imaginations resembles a beaver's tail, hence the name.
